Will Salter is a writer, director and comedian from Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire, currently based in Manchester.
Will has recently completed work on his no-budget short film The Red-Cap (2021), inspired by the folklore of Northern England, and is set to graduate with an MA in Filmmaking from Manchester Metropolitan University in summer 2022.
During his time as a Filmmaking student, Will assisted Dr Samantha Moore in the production of the BFI Network-funded animation Treasure (2021)
In summer 2021, he assisted MMU Theatre students with filming productions as camera operator and Director of Photography, following full COVID filming guidelines.
As well as Filmmaking, Will has a keen interest in writing, having received a BAHons in English Literature and Creative Writing from Lancaster University.
He regularly writes and performs in comedy sketches for instagram, and has written and performed as part of the Beach Hunks sketch group for the Edinburgh and Manchester Fringe Festivals.
Currently, Will is co-creator and host of the monthly Manchester alternative comedy night Island Time, featuring comedians from across the country. He regularly performs and writes stand-up comedy, as well as sketches and videos.
